It was a good weekend to be a musician….

Friday night, I performed a good looooooong while with Flint Dollar [the band director] for Mount de Sales Academy’s 2014 graduation. Flint & I played piano duets while the diplomas were handed out, and for the recessional as well. That was a LOT of pre-classical/roccoco piano duets!

Saturday I played as part of the EKC band, headed up by Dr. Edward Clark – for a fundraiser for the Georgia Industrial Children’s home in Macon. It was an absolutely perfect night to be playing outside, and we had an absolute ball! Sure wish we could have recorded it, because we were kickin’ it.

…and then Sunday was the usual services at FPC, with a choir that has an unusually high standard of excellence. Plus I previewed one of the tracks that may show up on the new album during communion.

All in all an excellent weekend to make music!

PLUS Flint told me several stories about the organ in the Macon City Auditorium. It is literally the last of its kind, dates back to 1926, and the pipes and “works” are all still in place [even the marimba and drum set]. More on that later – this could become something big……
