While recording the cello with Vadim Volynets, I had to stand next to him because he was reading a handwritten cello part. Anyone who has seen my handwriting will already know what a challenge that would be.
After about a half hour, Joey Stuckey comes over the headphones and says, “Tom, come in here and take your shoes off.”.
That’s what happens when you use $5000 microphones – they can hear your tennis shoes squeak.
