David Klee Project update

I completed the keyboard parts to David Klee’s new album last week. David was very pleased with the results, which is always nice to hear.

You can hear his earlier album over at last.fm @ http://www.last.fm/music/Dr.+David+Klee/River+of+Emotions. The new album is in the same ballpark stylistically, I think, but I like it better [hmmmm, could it be because of the keyboard playing????]

I took a lot of extra time with this, partly because David is a friend, but also because it was interesting music, and I had a chance to experiment. As is often true with experiments, this took longer than anticipated, but I think the results are worth it. Pretty much everything I recorded can also be played live [which is often not true!], so there may be some live shows in the future.

Some gratuitous tech notes
The keyboard tracks are a mixture of an old Steinway grand piano (using mid-side micing), a genuine-honest-to-goodness Fender Rhodes run through a vintage Boss chorus pedal, and sounds from some softsynths and a Roland RD700SX.

It was a fun project. I’ll post a note when I know where you can hear some samples online.
