April update – no foolin’!

[It’s April Fools Day here in the States]

FINALLY got a chance to get back into the studio. I’ve recently completed an inventory of all my snippets and files (both computer and physical) collected over time, and have 140-some bits that are queued up to mold into real music.

I FINALLY got a chance to get back into the studio and have begun working on a tune called “ostinatoville”. I’ve been experimenting with ostinati for some time – conceptually it’s a bit like ambient and minimalism in terms of repetition of a musical idea – but how do you use an ostinato and keep things interesting?

It is an interesting experiment. I’ve recorded all of the tracks, and am in the throes of mixing. hope to get it posted to last.fm in a week or so.
