Christmas music is often tricky, because it is SO familiar. I love changing things up and doing unexpected things with the melodies – like here, where I pause at unexpected times. I also like to intersect non-Christmas tunes with the Christmas ones – here My King of Heaven is thrown in with Away in a Manger – especially when the lyrical content meshes, like it does with these two traditional hymns. This was performed on December 28, 2014.
