I’ve been doing creative stuff long enough to know that EVERY project ever done goes through at least three stages:
- Excitement and bursts of energy at the beginning
- The Doldrums – there’s NO WAYT this can ever get done, why am I even trying, everyone is going to hate it anyway, etc etc etc
- Excitement – I can see the end and this might work after all.
I am, sadly, in the midst of stage two with the new album. It’s a bear, but I’ve been through this before.
I am comforted by the fact that (A) I’ve asked Joey Stuckey to be the producer on this album, and he has agreed to take the project on\, and (B) this is normal.
