“The Meeting” – more pix

Here are a couple more pictures from recording the first section of “The Meeting”.

I used a mid-side setup to give me flexibility when mixing. It’s something I’ve been using for several years, but mostly for live recording.

That’s a Cascade large format condensor picking up the mid, and a Warm Audio WA-47jr picking up the sides. It worked pretty well. [Thus the phrase “Mid/Side recording”]

What you DON’T see in the pictures are the 75ft cables running through the living room, down the hall, to the OutHouse studio. THAT’S why I [mostly] cleaned up before the wife got home – tripping is not a pleasant thing.

If you’d like to keep up with this process – not as much about the technical side, and more about the creative side – pop over to TomsTypewriter.com and sign up. I’m posting about the process [among other things] of creating this album.
